FAQs – Parents

What is the mission of the Multicultural Play Therapy Center?

The primary mission of the Center is to provide education and supervision experiences for professional play therapists in both school and community settings in this region. Through supervision, training, and evidence-based research, the Center will support the emotional growth of children from diverse cultures through the process of play therapy.

Is the Multicultural Play Therapy Center a place where I can bring my child for play therapy?

Unfortunately, we do not offer play therapy sessions at this time at our center.

However, the Association for Play Therapy (APT) website has a list of play therapists who are members of that organization. In addition, Dr. Post has a list of therapists in the area who do play therapy.

Also, you may contact Dr. Post ppost@uncc.edu. She maintains a list of professionals in the community who do play therapy.
